MATT + SARAH // FARGO ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER

Tuesday, June 18th, 2013

I can’t get over this lovely family farm engagement session! I think some couples worry that pictures on the farm may look ‘too country’, but check out these images from Matt and Sarah’s session out on her family farm. They brought a stunning romantic vibe to the country backdrops and I absolutely love how the images turned out. It was so fun getting to know Matt and Sarah. They’re both extremely successful in their own personal lives, but head over heels in love with one another! It was beautiful to see in front of my camera! Thank you so much Matt and Sarah for the wonderful evening on the farm. The country girl in me absolutely adored every minute of it and I have to admit it I totally listened to country music on the way home to celebrate! YEEHAW!! Enjoy : )

Cheers,

Emily

DUSTIN + KAYLA // FARGO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Tuesday, June 18th, 2013

Dustin and Kayla’s wedding was absolutely beautiful. The weather was perfect and everything went so seamlessly. I really enjoyed spending the day with these two love birds. Watching their day unfold was truly special. Kayla’s dad tagged along with us for pictures and it was probably one of the best ideas ever! He had some country tunes playing on his phone during portraits, which created a fun and relaxed atmosphere! I could definitely tell that Kayla and her dad had a very special relationship from the start, which was so fun to witness. I also have to mention that Kayla’s maid of honor had the BEST speech ever!! She created her own rap lyrics to Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song and rapped it to the freshly married couple, which was super hilarious! At that moment I wished we were besties, because I’ve always secretly wished I was a rapper (strange, I know) and any girl who can rap in front of a room like that is a winner in my book! Thank you so much Dustin and Kayla for allowing me to be a part of something so beautiful! I wish you two nothing but happiness in the years to come. Enjoy a little preview of your day : )

Cheers!

DAVE + SARA // FARGO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Thursday, June 13th, 2013

I am so happy to share these images from Dave and Sara’s wedding today! It’s been pretty busy around here with senior sessions and double weddings last weekend. So this week I’ve been playing catch up, which means a BUNCH of beautiful images will be coming your way! YAY!!

It’s totally hard to put words to what I witnessed on Dave and Sara’s wedding day. These two are such wonderful people! So kind hearted, warm, caring and loving. It was amazing to hear so many people on their day describe their relationships with them and how Dave and Sara have impacted their lives in so many ways. Dave and Sara were so calm and you could tell how much they were enjoying every moment as it unfolded on their day. It was great for me, because I just got to sit back and document what was happening right before me. Everything about their day was unique and personalized. There were so many special moments that were meaningful. For instance, the old Ford that made its appearance on their day had a beautiful story behind it. Dave’s grandpa borrowed his friends Ford to propose to Dave’s grandma and of course she said yes!! Later in life Dave’s grandpa went back and bought the same Ford and fixed it up for his wife. How stinkin’ cute is that! Love that story! I could literally write a book about all the awesomeness on their wedding day. Thank you so much Dave and Sara for allowing me to capture such precious moments. It was truly an honor and blessing to be part of such a beautiful day. Enjoy : )

A couple of things to mention….first, how stinkin’ cute are these two?? Their love is SO infectious and beautiful. As Pastor Lewis had mentioned in his message these two displayed three things in their relationship – intentionality, purity and a vision for the future. I thought that was so neat and a great message for other couples. Secondly, when I went to take photographs of Sara’s details I noticed that we had the same bracelets and then I knew we were the perfect fit. And thirdly, how fun is their good lookin’ bridal party?! They were a blast to hang out with for the afternoon and they made me giggle non-stop all day! The last image is from the reception when their close friends and family put on a show for them! Super funny!! “Oh what a day! A day in the life of Dave Schuster!” If you were there you totally know what I’m talking about : ) I had that song stuck in my head all night. Like I said, I could go on and on!

Have an awesome week everyone! More images coming your way from Aaron + Rachel and Dustin + Kayla’s weddings! Woohoo!

Cheers,

Emily

CHASE + KATIE // FARGO ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER

Wednesday, June 5th, 2013

Hanging out with Chase and Katie for the evening sure was a treat! I really enjoyed getting to know them more during their engagement session. I hardly had to direct them, because their chemistry was SO natural in front of the camera. Their session was laid back and I really loved that! They were giggly and fun, which made me super excited for their wedding day! My husband is very similar to Chase…they’re both super chill, goofy, and hilarious. I always give my husband such a hard time for being so silly all the time, but Chase and Katie’s session made me realize how awesome a silly partner is! It created the best atmosphere for their session and we were able to click right away. Thank you so much Chase and Katie for spending the evening with me! Enjoy : )

Cheers,

Emily

DYLAN + DEBBIE // FARGO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Thursday, May 30th, 2013

Dylan and Debbie’s wedding day was definitely special. I absolutely loved watching their day unfold. Every detail on their day fit their personalities so well and it continuously put a smile on my face. Dylan and Debbie stressed how important the ceremony was to them and how they wanted their day to be focused on their faith, which was awesome!!! Their ceremony was beautiful and left me crying like a baby (I knoooow, how do I cry at every wedding??). The way that Dylan looked at Debbie, seriously gave me goosebumps and you can tell how much he adores Debbie. I am sooo stinkin’ happy I got to be a part of their day. I’m giving  you a fair warning, there are looots of portraits of Dylan and Debbie. It was impossible to narrow down my favorites, because they photograph so well! Their love just oozed out into my camera. And Debbie’s flowers, GORGEOUS!!! Thank you so much Dylan and Debbie for allowing me to tag along for your day and capture all those special moments. I value our new friendship and look forward to what the future has in store for you both! Enjoy : )

Cheers,

Emily

JAMES + KAREN // FARGO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Saturday, May 25th, 2013

I am so happy to share these images from James and Karen’s wedding day with you! They were my first wedding to kick off the season and I am so stinkin’ glad that I was able to be there to capture their day. Karen’s laugh and smile are absolutely infectious and she is just sweet as pie. James is so kind and any guy who enjoys fantasy football is a winner in my book! The way that he looks at Karen just melted my heart. Their ceremony was beautiful and I was a blubbering fool behind my camera the entire time. I’m such a softy believe it or not. Karen had me in tears the second she walked down the aisle and watching James grin from ear to ear while looking at his wife was the coolest thing to witness, EVER! I loved every minute of their day and even Riley, their cute pup, got a chance to make an appearance during the first look. How awesome is that?! Thank you so much James and Karen for letting me be a part of your story. I’m anxious to see the future has in store for you two. Enjoy : )

Happy Memorial day weekend everyone!

DYLAN + DEBBIE // FARGO ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER

Monday, March 25th, 2013

I had a wonderful time this past weekend with Dylan & Debbie while taking their engagement pictures. Their session was so much fun! You can tell how much these two adore one another. They were so natural in front of the camera, it totally made my job way too easy! When Debbie told me she wanted to do something fun and different for her engagement session, I threw out the idea of shooting at the Fargo Air Museum and when she said she was on board I was so stinkin’ ecstatic! I could not be more happy with the way these images turned out. I really enjoyed shooting something different and unique. Little did I know that Dylan & Debbie had their very first date at an airport!! How awesome is that? I must give props to Debbie for the awesome outfit selections. I loved the colors! She has such a fab sense of style. I can only imagine how amazing her wedding dress will be. Thanks so much Dylan & Debbie for allowing me to capture your love. Can’t wait for the big day! I hope you two enjoy these as much as I did : )

Um….gorgeous, Debbie!!

This about sums up how adorable these two are : )

Have a wonderful week everyone!

UPDATES // 2013 INTERN POSITION + SPRING WORKSHOP + MODELS NEEDED

Saturday, March 2nd, 2013

Hello everyone : )

Yep, you read the title right. Lots of fun coming up here at Emily Koska Photography! Things around here have been super busy as of late, so I apologize for the lack of activity on my blog. One of my goals this year is to blog at least once a week. It sounds so easy, but when life gets a hold of you it can get a little tricky. These days you can find me working my pediatric home care nursing job, teaching group fitness classes, meeting with 2013 brides, launching my 2014 senior rep program AND taking on some personal endeavors. YIKES! I am so excited for 1) tax season to be over and 2) spring to come around so I can get outside and shoot more!! This spring will be crazy busy with engagement sessions featuring 2013 couples and I CANNOT wait.

Speaking of 2013 weddings, I am currently seeking an intern for the 2013 summer/fall wedding season. I am searching for a fun, creative, and motivated individual to join me. If you fit this description and would like details (and think you can handle me singing along to Mariah Carey at the top of my lungs on road trips), then please inquire through my contact page. I am so excited for this summer/fall! I have some amazing weddings lined up and I’d love to have someone just as excited as me along for the ride.

Second, I will be offering a Beginner’s Workshop from 1-4pm on Sunday, April 28th. This workshop is ideal for anyone looking to explore their hobby for photography and learn how to operate their DSLR camera! If you would like to register or find out more, please contact me at emilykoskaphotography[at]gmail[dot]com. It’s going to be lots of fun and very informative, promise! : )

Lastly, I am searching for a super quirky, stylish, and outgoing couple to model for a mentoring session in the afternoon on April 3rd in Fargo. If you know a couple that fits this description who would be interested in some stunning FREE images, then send them my way. Yay!

Whew, lots of announcements but I am so pumped for wedding season to pick up!! Bring it on 2013!!

And because every post is better with an image, here is a recent favorite of mine from Mike & Carly’s engagement session! : )

Cheers to chasing our dreams!

Emily
