When I decided to follow my passion for wedding photography, I don’t think I truly understood what I was signing up for. I absolutely LOVE my job, but it does not come without it’s difficulties. As some of you may know, I have my nursing degree and worked as a floor nurse before starting my photography business. The beginning stages of my business have definitely been a learning process for me. I’ve found that my brain doesn’t understand (nor enjoy) the business side of being an entrepreneur : ) I just love getting behind a camera and interacting with my clients! But, business must be tended to! After a year of trying to figure it out on my own, I finally decided to enlist the help of a fellow photographer to guide me in the right direction!
When I stumbled across Emily Steffen’s blog, I KNEW I had to meet her! Her bubbly and fun personality really jumped out at me as I read her words on her blog. As I scrolled through her images and drooled over her amazing talent, I really had a tugging at my heart to meet this super talented girl! After corresponding back and forth, we got a mentor session arranged in Fargo!! I was so stinkin’ excited to spend an entire day picking her brain and making a new friend. I feel so incredibly blessed to have had this opportunity! I learned soooo much! I cannot wait to implement what I learned and watch my business grow! Thank you so so so much Emily!! You are such an amazing person and I am so glad to have met you! Here’s to making new friends!
Check out this adorable gift Emily got me!! LOVED IT!!! The camera is actually handmade by Emily! She owns a textile business. I know what you’re thinking…is there anything this girl can’t do?? Nope : ) She’s uber talented. Check out more of her textile work at her Etsy shop here or watch and learn more about her story here. So cute!
In the afternoon we headed out to shoot together! My wonderful friends Cory and Lauren so graciously gave up their afternoon to spend some time in front of our cameras and I am so grateful! They were so stinkin’ cute and they made it incredibly easy to learn while shooting with Emily. Cory’s hair was looking awesome (as always) and Lauren’s smile was totally infectious. They’re such a fun couple to photograph! Check it out…
Never mind our reflections in her aviators, I’m obsessed with this image because it’s TOTALLY Lauren!
Smiling, laughing, and absolutely stunning!
Our view of Cory & Lauren through the window at Babb’s Coffee House. And I die…..
THANK YOU so much Emily, Cory & Lauren!!! I hope you enjoyed these images as much as I did : )
