So this wedding meant a lot to me. It was the mark of the end of my internship with Kendra. Ugh, I can’t believe I am actually saying that! It makes me so sad to think that my internship is done! Where has the time gone?!!? I feel like yesterday I was just a stressed out nurse who had this big dream of becoming a wedding photographer. I would literally creep on wedding blogs for hours, yep HOURS, on end every night just dreaming of the day I could shoot a wedding. To my surprise, I was given that chance by one of the photographers who I totally creeped on all the time! How lucky can a girl get?! Thanks to Kendra, I am on this crazy roller ride of launching my own photography business and I couldn’t be happier : ) But now that my internship has come to a close…it has left me thinking….who in the WORLD am I going to shoot with next summer?? Who is going to help me survive the entire summer of 2012 without losing my mind?? Who is going to sit in the car with me and chat away the hours or drink endless cups of coffee with me?? I’m definitely thinking I will have to hire my own intern for next summer. There’s no way I’m going to be that girl, sitting at the reception stuffing cake in my face all alone : ) Of course, no one can replace Kendra. She has taught me so so much and I feel like I owe her my life. Really. I mean seriously, what kind of well established photographer hires a nurse as their summer intern?? I truly feel as though this internship was a gift from God. Not only did I walk away with a wealth of photography knowledge…but I also walked away with a new friend and for that I am so blessed. Kendra is such a beautiful person inside and out, for reals and I am so happy I had this opportunity to get to know her. Her love for her husband and family and most importantly, God is such an inspiration to me. I am so glad to know that not only have I gained a fellow colleague and mentor, but an amazing friend. Thank you so so much from the bottom of my heart, Kendra! I owe you the world. Or perhaps a lifetime supply of images courtesy of yours truly?? : )
Okay…now that you’ve lasted this long. I must move onto Ben & Emily’s wedding!! My purpose at this wedding was to not only tag along as a second shooter/assistant….but to ensure that Kendra didn’t go into preterm labor. Just so you know…no baby yet. Thank you God! Oh and I suppose smart water, too!! Ben & Emily’s wedding day was absolutely stunning. Their church was so beautiful and the way Ben looks at Emily….yeah, it could totally make any girl melt! He is so sweet with her, it is the cutest thing. Thank you Ben & Emily for allowing us to tag along on your special day! Oh and thank you for allowing me to do your photobooth at the reception. I was totally chuckling the entire time while editing these. I’m thinking I might offer this option to brides in the future. Enjoy : )
